Rumblings: To be sure, these are nervous times on the Plains — especially Saturday, when Auburn avoided a major upset against FCS member Jacksonville State with a late touchdown to force OT and won in the extra period.

On offense, briefly

Johnson has been shaky at best, throwing five interceptions in two games, but Barber has rushed for 240 yards and a 5.1 average to pick up the slack.

On defense, briefly

The Tigers have had a tough time stopping the read option in the first two games and have allowed 199.5 rushing yards per game as well as 222.0 through the air.
