Make it three.

LSU freshman running back Leonard Fournette was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week for his performance Thursday at Texas A&M, the league announced Monday.

It’s the third such honor won by the rookie out of St. Augustine High. Fournette ran for a career-high 146 yards in the 23-17 win in College Station, Texas. His 22-yard touchdown run against the Aggies created national buzz.

Fournette finished the regular season with a team-leading 891 rushing yards. The former top-ranked recruit in the nation is just 111 yards from breaking the school’s freshman rushing record. Fournette is third on that list behind Justin Vincent (1,001 in 2003) and Dalton Hilliard (901 in 1982).

LSU is not practicing this week. The Tigers will know their bowl destination Sunday.
