IN-GAME UPDATES: @DellengerAdv

WHAT TO WATCH: Poché gets his first start to open a series, and, man, it’s a big one. LSU needs to win, if not sweep, the series to have a shot at winning the SEC West and/or getting into the top four of the SEC standings, a key to hosting an NCAA regional and receiving a bye in the SEC tournament that begins next week.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT: Ortman is Auburn’s No. 1 pitcher. He’s struck out 58 and walked just 15 in 94 innings. Auburn is 13th in the SEC standings and has lost six of its past seven SEC series, getting swept twice. AU lost its No. 2 pitcher, Keegan Thompson, who is out for the season with a fractured bone in his foot.

IN THE HOLE: LSU at Auburn, 6 p.m. Friday.
