Tulane officials announced the Green Wave’s baseball game against LSU on April 26 is officially sold out.
The 5,000-seat Turchin Stadium is expected to be filled to capacity for the second game of the series between the longstanding in-state rivals.
Single-game tickets retailed for $30 each to the public. The only available seats were fewer than 200 student tickets, but Green Wave officials expect those to be snatched up by Friday night.
Tulane’s 7-1 win over LSU on March 29 was its first victory over the Tigers at Alex Box Stadium since 2007, which is also the last time Tulane swept the season series. That victory, as well as Tulane’s first ranking in the Baseball America poll since 2011, helped re-ignite the Green Wave’s fan base and the in-state rivalry.
“This is the first time in a long time I can recall a total advance sell out — as in even our emergency tickets are gone,” Tulane executive associate athletic director Brandon MacNeill said. “Coach (David) Pierce and this team are doing a phenomenal job bringing excitement to Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.”
