LSU was named one of 16 regional sites for the NCAA baseball tournament, which begins Friday.

This will be the 20th time the Tigers have hosted a regional. Only Florida State and Miami among this year’s site hosts have hosted more regionals.

The entire 64-team field, including which three other teams are headed to Alex Box Stadium, will be announced at 11 a.m. Monday on ESPNU. The eight national seeds will also be revealed at that time.

LSU, the regular-season Southeastern Conference champion, appears to be a strong candidate to be one of the eight national seeds, which would mean the Tigers would host a super regional if they win the Baton Rouge regional.
