The LSU men’s cross country team dominated the LSU Invitational, scoring 18 points at Highland Road Park in the 5-kilometer meet.

The LSU women scored 37 points for second place behind Southern Miss’ 18.

Tigers freshman Dajour Braxton was the top men’s finisher in 15 minutes, 20.65 seconds; Christian Johnson was second in 15:38.65.

Morgan Schuetz led the Lady Tigers, finishing third with a time of 18:02.74.

“The men’s meet went extremely well,” coach Khadevis Robinson said. “They did what I knew they could do. I am extremely pleased with their performance. The women did fine, but I think they had a little more in them. I’ll take the blame on that, because I have worked them hard these past two weeks.”

LSU volleyball team sweeps Cal State-Northridge

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The LSU volleyball team swept past California State Northridge 25-21, 25-21, 31-29 on Saturday inside The Pit at the University of New Mexico.

Cati Leak had 18 and 10 digs to pace LSU (3-7). Katie Lindelow had 10 kills, Lindsay Flory had 19 assists, and Haley Smith had 23 digs.

Aeryn Owens led the Matadors (1-10) with 10 kills, Erin Indermill had 16 assists, and Katie Sato had 19 digs.

LSU women golfers in fourth after two rounds at Mason Rudolph

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — The LSU women’s golf team posted a second round of 1 under par and is tied for fourth place after 36 holes of the Mason Rudolph Championships at the Vanderbilt Legends Club South Course.

The Lady Tigers are 1-under 575 along with Auburn and Louisville. Georgia leads at 15-under 561, followed by Alabama (562) and Northwestern (564).

LSU’s Carolina Nistrup is tied for eighth at 3-under 141, six shots behind leader Lakareber Abe of Alabama.

The Lady Tigers’ Elise Bradley is tied for 19th at 143, and Nadine Dreher (144) is tied for 25th.

Tigers host Marquette in soccer, seek third straight win

The LSU soccer team hosts Marquette at noon Sunday, looking for the third straight win in their final nonconference match.

The Tigers are 6-1-2; Marquette is 3-3-2.
