LSU slipped five spots to No. 24 in the second round of College Football Playoff rankings announced Tuesday.

The Tigers (6-3, 3-2 SEC) host Arkansas (4-5, 1-4) on Saturday ranked in two of the three polls. LSU is No. 25 in the coaches rankings and is not ranked in the AP Top 25. 

This is the second release of the rankings. The selection committee announced the first top 25 last Tuesday. The Tigers debuted at No. 19 in the first poll. Three more mid-season rankings are scheduled for each Tuesday until the final poll on Dec. 3. The top 4 in those rankings play in a four-team playoff.

Alabama remained No. 2 in the CFP rankings, one spot behind top-ranked Georgia. Notre Dame and Clemson are third and fourth, as they were in the initial poll.
