LSU's Saturday afternoon practice lackluster but cornerback Dwayne Thomas did strike the Heisman pose _lowres

Just two to go.

LSU will close preseason camp starting Monday so reporters have two more practices – Sunday morning and afternoon – to acquire any information on this year’s team before the season opener.

Saturday afternoon’s practice was quite lackluster, aside from cornerback Dwayne Thomas striking the Heisman Trophy pose. News nuggets, photos and videos below.

  • Miquel James move: Miquel James, the receiver who had one carry last season, looks to have been moved to running back from wideout. James, a sophomore from Kentwood, was working with the running backs on Saturday, taking reps with who’s presumed to be the No. 3 quarterback, Justin McMillan.
  • Injury update: Freshman FB Bry’Kiethon Mouton remained in a green non-contact jersey, something he began wearing during Day 2 of camp Friday. His injury must not be serious in any way. Mouton seemed to be going through drills with other players.
  • Frosh O-linemen: You’ll remember that Meae Teuhema practiced with the veteran Saturday morning so he wasn’t with his rookie buddies. Toby Weathersby worked at right guard, and George Brown Jr. worked at right tackle during drills in the afternoon. It was tough to see where Chidi Valentine-Okeke worked in such the limited time.
  • Funny Cameron: As media were just settling in to watch practice, OC Cam Cameron hollered at a camera man, “Is that thing running?” The camera man answered yes, and then Cameron shouted at his quarterbacks, “Good, you’re on camera boys.”
