Player to watch

QB Jarrett Lee

Last week's stats: 10-22-98 passing, 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions.

Lee was effective in the opening victory against Oregon last week despite being hampered by several dropped passes, but the passing game needs to get better. The Tigers should feel freer to open up the passing game against the Demons, who don?t pose nearly as big a threat as the Ducks did. This is an opportunity for the coaches to see how Lee handles a wider variety of passing plays and to hone the timing between Lee and an inexperienced receiving corps.

Player to watch

QB Brad Henderson

Last season’s stats: 294-1,731 rushing, 21 TDs, 17-208 receiving, 3 TDs

Henderson, a junior-college transfer, came off the bench to rally the Demons to victory against Delta State last week. He was nearly flawless as his only incompletion was a drop. He threw a 32-yard touchdown pass and quickly established himself as a leader on the offense. He?ll be facing an entirely different challenge this week, though.
