LSU, which finished 18-15, got 21 points and nine rebounds from center Justin Hamilton, but had no answer for the fast-paced Ducks (23-9), a No. 3 seed. Oregon advanced to play Iowa in the second round.
Minnesota transfer Devoe Joseph scored 25 points on 11-for-16 shooting. As a team, Oregon shot 34-for-58, 58.6 percent, against a Tigers defense that came into the game holding opponents to 41 percent shooting. In its last game, a loss to Kentucky at the SEC Tournament, the Tigers frustrated the top-ranked Wildcats offense in a 60-51 Wildcats win.
Ralson Turner added 14 points for LSU while senior Malcolm White had seven points and four rebounds in his last game. White was one of three seniors playing their final game along with Chris Bass (2 points) and Storm Warren (2 points).
Garrett Sim added 15 points and Tony Wood 14 on 6-for-8 shooting for Oregon. Sim was 3-for-3 from 3-point range for the Ducks, who shot 9-for-17 from 3-point range as a team.
