SCOUTING REPORT, Northwestern State: LSU will need to be careful with Northwestern State’s David Fry, who is hitting .346 with 11 homers and 50 RBIs this season. He has been an especially hard out while the Demons have won 10 of their last 12, going 22 for 51 (.431) with five home runs, 11 doubles and 21 RBIs over that stretch.

SCOUTING REPORT, LSU: Not that long ago, a fine sophomore season was slipping away from Beck after three consecutive subpar outings. But he rebounded in a big way in his last outing, firing three scoreless hitless frames to nail down a win against Arkansas. With an LSU pitching staff nursing some injuries, the Tigers could use another performance like that.
