No. 20 LSU opens the Southeastern Conference women’s tennis tournament against No. 23 Kentucky at 2 p.m. Thursday at the LSU Tennis Complex.

Admission to all matches of the five-day tournament is free. The Lady Tigers (17-10) are the No. 8 seed, and the Wildcats are the No. 9 seed in the tournament. Both teams earned first-round byes after finishing with 6-7 record in the SEC.

In Wednesday’s opening-round matches, Alabama defeated Missouri 4-0, and Ole Miss edged Tennessee 4-3.

TIGERS TO SQUARE OFF WITH VANDERBILT IN SEC TOURNAMENT: The No. 33 LSU men’s tennis team faces No. 34 Vanderbilt in the second round of the Southeastern Conference tournament at 9 a.m. Thursday in Columbia, South Carolina, at the Carolina Tennis Center.

LSU is 14-10, while Vanderbilt is 16-12

If the Tigers advance, they will take on No. 2 Florida at 9 a.m. Friday.
