Coming off its national runner-up finish, LSU baseball was ranked No. 12 in the preseason top-25 released by Perfect Game on Wednesday afternoon.
The Tigers were one of seven Southeastern Conference teams to make the publication's rankings, joined by No. 1 Florida, No. 6 Arkansas, No. 8 Kentucky, No. 11 Ole Miss, No. 15 Texas A&M and No. 25 Mississippi State.
The SEC was tied with the Atlantic Coast Conference for the most teams in the Perfect Game rankings.
Sophomore outfielder Zach Watson was LSU's lone representative on Perfect Game's preseason All-American teams, making the publication's third team.
LSU was ranked No. 10 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper rankings, the only other set of preseason rankings released so far. Florida, who defeated LSU in the College World Series finals last season, has been ranked No. 1 in both polls.
After finishing as the national runners-up last season, LSU will begin 2018 as a top-10 team in at least one of the many college baseball rankings.
