The LSU women’s tennis team finished the season ranked No. 42 as released by the Intercollegiae Tennis Association on Tuesday.
Under second-year coach Julia S. Sell, the Lady Tigers earned a berth in the NCAA Division I Tennis Tournament after defeating seven ranked opponents.
Those seven victories are the most ranked wins the Lady Tigers have earned since garnering 11 in 2009.
LSU, which finished with a 14-14 record after falling 4-1 to Pepperdine in the NCAA tournament.
2014 Signing Class Rated No. 13 Nationally: The LSU volleyball team received some early preseason accolades as PrepVolleyball.com released its top 30 recruiting classes for 2014, and the Tigers check in with the 13th best class in the nation according to the website announced.
LSU, coming off of 19-13 campaign and a berth in the second round of the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2009, is the second-highest rated team in the Southeastern Conference. Florida is the highest at No. 4.
