LSU’s final five-star recruit made it to campus.

Defensive back Jamal Adams, a highly rated freshman from Texas, reported to campus Monday, his father, George Adams, confirmed.

Adams’ arrival brings the number of rookies on campus to 22.

LSU signed the No. 2-ranked recruiting class in the nation in February, then added a signee this summer in junior-college offensive tackle Jevonte Domond.

The group of 24 players is expected to make an immediate impact for a squad that lost much of its production when a group of seniors and draft-eligible juniors and sophomores departed the program.

Only Domond and defensive tackle Trevonte Valentine, a four-star prospect from Miami, have not yet reported. Domond is completing work to graduate from Glendale Community College in Arizona.

Valentine plans to enroll in August after the completion of summer work. Eighteen freshmen reported Friday, and summer school began Monday.

Two freshmen enrolled in January: quarterback Brandon Harris and defensive back Ed Paris.
