Tyler Taylor, a four-star inside linebacker from Buford, Georgia, has committed to LSU, signing with the Tigers Wednesday morning at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
Taylor chose LSU over Auburn, Oklahoma and Georgia. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound prospect is the 11th-best inside linebacker and the No. 251 overall player in the 2017 recruiting class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He’s the No. 25 player from Georgia.
Taylor – who officially visited the Tigers on Jan. 20 – had a total of 26 offers, including 10 from Southeastern Conference schools.
"We feel like by the end of the day, we’re getting 3-4 of the best LBs in the country." LSU coach Orgeron said on ESPNU on Wednesday morning.
Taylor is the 21st addition to LSU’s class and the Tigers’ third linebacker signee. He joins Livonia four-star outside linebacker Patrick Queen and Nashville, Tennessee, four-star inside linebacker Jacob Phillips.
Taylor gave the Tigers a silent verbal commitment a week ago, ESPNU reported Wednesday, quoting defensive coordinator Dave Aranda.
