LSU running back Leonard Fournette is not expected to play Saturday against Missouri.

Fournette, the Tigers star junior, was not dressed out during pregame warmups, and coach Ed Orgeron indicated on pregame radio that he would not play.

LSU (2-2, 1-1) and Missouri (2-2, 0-1) meet at 6:30 p.m. Saturday night at Tiger Stadium.

Fournette is still nursing a lingering ankle injury. He sprained the ankle during preseason camp but has re-inured it now twice — in the season opener against Wisconsin and last week at Auburn.

Fournette, the Tigers junior star, did not practice this week, coach Ed Orgeron said, but he left open the possibility for his tailback to play during a post-practice news conference Thursday.

"You know," Orgeron said of Fournette, "when you walk down that hill and feel all those people and you walk out in that stadium, you may feel a little bit better. Sometimes they get better on Saturday. As of right now, I don't know if he's going to play or not. We'll see."
