The Advocate's experts have made their picks for LSU vs. Syracuse on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

The Tigers start off slowly but get the offense back in gear and pull away in the second half for a comfortable (and relieving) win. Syracuse and its quarterback Eric Dungey will pose a challenge to LSU's depleted defense, but this time the offense can pick up the slack.

The Tigers laid an egg on the road last week, but they get a shot Saturday night to fix the mistakes that led to the largest loss to Mississippi State in program history. This one is more than just about getting the win. Coach Ed Orgeron's group needs to show discipline, a defensive improvement and better blocking, throwing and catching on offense.

After an unsightly loss at Mississippi State, the Tigers have something to prove on both sides of the ball — namely when it comes to eliminating penalties. The offense should be up to the task with the run and pass, while the defense needs to get back to its attacking ways against an up-tempo Syracuse team.
