St. Amant High pitcher Blayne Enlow was hoping to get an offer from LSU during an unofficial visit.
The result was a dream come true.
Enlow, a right-hander and a junior-to-be, committed to be part the Tigers’ 2017 signing class Tuesday.
“LSU has always been my dream school,” Enlow said. “That’s the team I’ve always followed, so when I got the offer, I was really excited.”
The 6-foot-3, 165-pound Enlow helped St. Amant advance to the Class 5A playoffs in the spring and most recently was part of the Gauthier & Amedee summer team that made a deep run into the American Legion state tournament in New Orleans.
A fastball clocked at 90 mph makes Enlow a top prospect for 2017. In addition to LSU, Enlow said he also was considering Tulane and Southern Miss.
Also in LSU baseball, Jesuit catcher Trent Forshag will be walking on this fall.
Forshag’s addition comes after coach Paul Mainieri announced Monday night that infielders Grayson Byrd and Danny Zardon were transferring, freeing up two roster spots.
