The top-ranked LSU gymnastics team had no problem with No. 24 Kentucky on Friday night, easily outpacing the Wildcats 197.800-195.000 in the Tigers’ final regular-season meet at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

It was the third-highest score of the season for LSU (10-3, 5-2 Southeastern Conference), which came in with a nation’s best average team score of 197.660.

LSU broke a school record with its eighth straight score of 197.000 or better. The Tigers also extended their streak of home matches with a score of 197.000 or higher to eight.

LSU junior Rheagan Courville won all-around honors with a score of 39.625. Teammate Jessie Jordan was second at 39.525.

The page now turns to championship season for the Tigers. They’ll compete March 22 in Birmingham, Ala., in the SEC championship, then return to the PMAC to host an NCAA regional April 5 in advance of an expected return to Birmingham for the NCAA championships April 18-20.
