Who’s on the list?

Kevin Steele has left LSU for the same position at Auburn, tossing the Tigers into another coordinator search less than a year after the last one finished.

LSU coach Les Miles has last year’s list to fall back on, and The Advocate has a copy of that list.

The 25-man list was obtained through court documents, filed in LSU’s on-going lawsuit with former defensive coordinator John Chavis.

In response to Chavis’ request, the university identified the list of potential candidates that Miles and director of football operations Dean Dingman created in late December and early January to replace the departed Chavis, now at Texas A&M.

Twelve members of the 25-man list were never contacted. The other 13 or their agents were, at the very least, contacted via phone, through calls and/or text messages. Miles and or Dingman met with six of the candidates.

Here’s a breakdown of each of those candidates, excluding those who would never be in consideration for this job: Steele; Will Muschamp; now the head coach at South Carolina; Pat Narduzzi, now the head coach at Pittsburgh; current Georgia Southern head coach Tyson Summers; DJ Durkin, now head coach at Maryland.
