The Gamecocks have lots of firepower with Jenkins, the 2015 OVC offensive player of the year, and Thomas, an Auburn transfer. Jenkins had 230 yards passing and 101 rushing in the season-opening rout of North Alabama.

Jackson, the preseason OVC defensive player of the year, has 24.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks in two seasons as the anchor of that unit. JSU held North Alabama to 222 total yards on 56 plays in the opener.
