MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama overwhelmed LSU 4-0 in the first round of the NCAA women’s soccer tournament Saturday.

Danielle Henley scored twice for the Jaguars, Rio Hardy and Charde Hannah each added a goal.

The Tigers (13-6-4) were making their first postseason appearance since 2011.

South Alabama (18-2-2) will face defending national champion and No. 1 seed Florida State at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Tallahassee, Florida.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

Taylor, Golovin advance: In Las Vegas, Nevada, LSU senior Ella Taylor defeated Texas A&M’s Ines Deheeza 6-3, 6-1, and freshman Jessica Golovin earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Idaho’s Marta Tavares to advance to the final of UNLV’s Rebel Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Frank and Vicki Fertitta Tennis Complex.

Taylor will face TCU’s Mia King, and Golovin will play Idaho’s Belen Barcenilla in singles final matches Sunday.

Golovin and sophomore Ryann Foster won their doubles match over Baylor’s Blair Shankle and Elizabeth Profit 8-5. The LSU pair will take on Zoe Katz and Jessica Failla of Southern California in the final.

In the consolation bracket, Foster defeated Idaho’s Marta Tavares 6-3, 6-1 and will take on Mimi Fotopoulo of Oklahoma in the final.

LSU falls in CCB: In Birmingham, Alabama, three LSU players lost in the singles quarterfinals on Day 2 of the CCB Collegiate Invitational.

Adrian Ortiz of Texas defeated LSU’s Tam Trinh 6-4, 6-2. And Teeradon Tortrakul of Southern Miss defeated LSU freshman Cameron Andry 6-1, 7-5. Both Trinh and Andry suffered minor injuries.

Middle Tennessee’s Gian Issa outlasted LSU’s Gabor Csonka 4-6. 6-2, 7-5.
