HILTON HEAD, S.C. — LSU’s Kathleen Gallagher completed the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate with a top-15 finish Sunday over the Long Cove Club.

Gallagher finished the three-day event with a 3-over 74 and posted rounds of 74-71-74 to finish in a group tied for 13th place at 6-over 219.

Cheyenne Knight of Alabama posted 1-over par 72 on the final day to move from first to the individual championship with an even par 213 for 54 holes (67-74-72). Four golfers tied for second at 1-over 214.

LSU finished in a tie for 15th place at 60-over par 912 after a round of 24-over 308 on the final day (303-301-308). The Lady Tigers tied with Mississippi State, which shot 309 on the final day.

Alabama shot +8 on the final day and won the tournament by seven shots at +16 868 (278-298-292). Virginia was second at 23-over 875 after a +12 296.

LSU’s Nadine Dreher posted a 75 on the final day, and LSU also counted a 79 from Elise Bradley and 80 from Sydney Cavin.

LSU’s next tournament is the LSU Tiger Golf Classic at The University Club. The event will have Sunday through Tuesday dates with play set to begin on March 20. Admission is free to the 54-hole event.

LSU men’s tennis scores win over Auburn

LSU’s Justin Butsch defeated Maxime Hinnisdaels of Auburn 5-7, 6-0, 6-3 to clinch No. 32 LSU’s win over No. 66 Auburn by a 5-2 margin at the LSU Tennis Complex on Sunday.

LSU followed that with a 4-0 win over Alcorn State.

Butsch and partner Tam Trinh got a doubles win over Brandon Laubser and Conner Huertas 6-2, to put No. 17 Jordan Daigle and Boris Arias in position to clinch the doubles point with a 6-2 win over No. 52 Marko Krickovic and Edward Nguyen of Auburn.

In singles, LSU’s Nikola Samardzic topped Auburn’s Joseph Van Dooren 6-3, 6-3, giving LSU a 2-0 lead against Auburn.

Daigle dropped a 6-3, 6-0 decision to Krickovic, and LSU got a 6-4 6-4 win from Andrew Korinek over Brandon Laubser.

In other matches, LSU’s Gabor Csonka topped Huertas 6-2, 6-7 (6-8), 6-2, and Auburn’s Dante Saleh defeated Boris Arias 6-4, 2-6, 7-5.
