After losing a solid group of seniors that helped LSU finish fourth at the NCAA track and field championships in June, the Tigers added 10 athletes to the roster for the 2016 season.

Coach Dennis Shaver bolstered his men’s team with the addition of five All-America transfers, including a pair of 400-meter runners, and five top high school recruits.

The transfers are quarter-milers LaMar Bruton (Ohio State) and Michael Cherry (Florida State), sprinters Tinashe Mutanga (Oral Roberts) and Renard Howell (South Plains), and thrower Johnnie Jackson (Coffeyville Community College).

The incoming freshmen are sprinters Jaron Flournoy (Detroit) and Donte Jackson (Metairie), middle distance runner Dajour Braxton (Las Vegas, Nevada), distance runner Jackson Fountain (New Orleans) and pole vaulter Chadd Burns (Baton Rouge).
