The Mississippis have swapped places on LSU's football schedule - for at least one year.

The school released its 2018 schedule on Tuesday, a 12-game list that features some notable changes from years past. The Tigers play Ole Miss on Sept. 29, the earliest meeting between the two teams since 1940. LSU hosts Mississippi State, normally a September game, on Oct. 20.

The opponents and locations for the 2018 schedule have been known. The SEC and school released dates Monday.

LSU begins the season in Arlington, Texas, against Miami before hosting Southeastern Louisiana. The Tigers open the SEC slate with Auburn and then host Louisiana Tech and Ole Miss before traveling to Florida for a second straight season.

Georgia visits Baton Rouge for the first time since 2008 on Oct. 13 before that home clash with the Bulldogs. The Tigers get off the weekend before the Alabama game, at its usual place on the first week of November. The Crimson Tide serves as the program's final SEC home game.

LSU finishes the year traveling to Arkansas, hosting Rice and meeting Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
