LSU will hold its annual spring game April 16, the school announced Wednesday.

Kickoff will be at 3 p.m. in Tiger Stadium. Details on television and radio coverage will be released later.

The school also released a number of spring football dates, including the start date of spring practice (March 7).

LSU will have 15 spring practice dates, including the spring game.

The Tigers, coming off a 9-3 campaign, are heading into their 12th season under coach Les Miles.

LSU returns 18 starters from 2015 and is working on what is currently rated as the nation’s consensus No. 1 recruiting class.

Five members of that recruiting class — cornerback Savion Smith, linebacker Michael Divinity, running back Devin White and wide receivers Dee Anderson and Stephen Sullivan — enrolled earlier this month and will participate in spring practice.

Beckham a Pro Bowl captain

Former LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. of the New York Giants was named one of four team captains for the Pro Bowl and took part in Wednesday night’s player draft.

Pro Football Hall of Famers Michael Irvin and Jerry Rice will serve as NFL Legends captains for their Pro Bowl squads — Team Irvin and Team Rice.

Kickoff is 6 p.m. Sunday at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. ESPN will broadcast the game.

In addition to Beckham, five other former LSU stars were selected to the Pro Bowl: tackle Andrew Whitworth (Cincinnati), wide receiver Jarvis Landry (Miami), cornerback Patrick Peterson (Arizona), guard Trai Turner (Carolina) and defensive back Tyrann Mathieu (Arizona).

Turner will not play in the Pro Bowl because his Panthers advanced to next the Super Bowl to take on Denver. Mathieu is recovering from knee surgery and also will not participate.

Beckham, 23, just completed his second year in the NFL, catching 96 passes for 1,450 yards and 13 touchdowns. He has 187 catches with the Giants so far, the most of any NFL player ever in his first two seasons.

OBJ to guest on ‘Code Black’

After the Pro Bowl, Beckham will be ready for prime time in another way.

Beckham will make his acting debut next month when he guest stars on the CBS medical drama “Code Black.”

Beckham’s episode airs at 9 p.m. Feb. 10.

The former Tiger plays himself alongside Emmy award-winning actor Beau Bridges, who appears as Pete Delaney, Odell’s high school football coach. In the episode, Beckham convinces Bridges’ character to undergo a life-saving surgery.

The show won’t be the extent of Beckham’s TV appearances next month. He also appears in a Buick commercial that airs on Super Bowl Sunday alongside actress/model Emily Ratajkowski (“Gone Girl,” “Entourage”).
