RUMBLINGS: Picked fourth in the nine-team Southern Conference by the league coaches and media, UTC played Jacksonville State, ranked fifth in FCS, tough for a half before yielding 17 second-half points in the opener.

ON THE MOCS OFFENSE

Tiano threw for 218 yards and rushed for 68 against JSU while filling in for a suspended Alejandro Bennifield, who won't play against LSU. Bagley is a versatile threat as a runner, receiver and kick returner.

ON THE MOCS DEFENSE

Chattanooga was without a preseason All-American in linebacker Dale Warren, who was also serving an NCAA suspension. Mack and Webb are also accomplished players who were preseason all-league first-team picks.
