The golf tournament hosted by Shaquille O'Neal and LSU basketball coach Johnny Jones last Friday helped raise $200,000 for flood relief.

The sold-out SHAQ-Johnny Jones Golf Classic, which also attracted former LSU golfers and current PGA Tour players David Toms, Smylie Kaufmann and John Peterson as well as many of the school's top athletes from various sports, was at Carter Plantation in Springfield.

Among other former LSU standouts who attended were Garrett Temple, Marcus Thornton, Tyrus Thomas, Justin Vincent, Eddie Fuller and Dalton Hilliard.

“So many people came forward to help us out,” Jones said “To all the golfers that came out and played, we appreciate your support.

"This really speaks volumes about what we were able to do here. To raise $200,000 in a single day, that is an amount of money that can really help people affected by this tragedy.”
