HOOVER, Ala. - LSU coach Les Miles, arriving at SEC media days on Thursday morning, said he is “confident” and "optimistic" that suspended quarterback Anthony Jennings and others will return to the team.

Miles said Jennings, who was arrested in June on a count of unauthorized entry and subsequently suspended from the team, has not been working out with LSU players.

Quarterback Brandon Harris, Miles said, has taken part in all summer workouts. “The extra throws have helped Brandon this summer,” he said.

Other suspended players include cornerback Dwayne Thomas, defensive lineman Maquedius Bain and offensive lineman Jevonte Domond.

Other notes:

-- Miles said freshmen running back Derrius Guice and defensive lineman Isaiah Washington have caught his eye during summer workouts. Guice, who was transported to a hospital Wednesday from an LSU practice facility after losing consciousness, is OK after undergoing medical tests, Miles said. The coach was unsure why he lost consciousness.

-- Defensive back signee Jeremy Cutrer, a junior college transfer, won't enroll at LSU, and offensive lineman signee Chidi Valentine-Okeke has been cleared to enroll. They were the final two signee whose status was not known.
