LSU director of women’s basketball operations Jon Silver accepted a women’s basketball assistant coaching position at the University of Vermont as announced Thursday by Catamounts coach Lori Gear McBride.

Silver has been involved in all facets of the Lady Tigers program over the past four seasons. He has coordinated practice and game scheduling, team travel, fundraising, equipment, the student-manager program and the team’s community service initiatives.

Golf

Three named Ping honorable mention All-Americans: Sophomore Brandon Pierce picked up his second All-America honor of the season Thursday morning, while junior Zach Wright and sophomore Eric Ricard were awarded their first All-America honors after being selected as PING Honorable Mention All-Americans by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Pierce was recently named a third-team All-American by Golfweek after finishing the season as the nation’s No. 28-ranked player.

Pierce, Ricard and Wright were each named second-team All-SEC performers.

Soccer

MATCHES TO BE TELEVISED ON PAC-12 AND SEC NETWORKS: LSU fans can watch the Tigers on the SEC Network in regular-season matches against Georgia Bulldogs on Sept. 17 and Arkansas on Oct. 15. Both matches start at 6 p.m.

The Tigers will host Georgia and travel to Arkansas.

Thursday’s announcement comes one day after the Pac-12 announced LSU’s season-opening match against Oregon will open on the Pac-12 Network with a 9 p.m. CDT start at Pape Field in Eugene.

Volleyball

TIGERS MATCHES TO BE NATIONALLY TELEVISED NINE TIMES: The Southeastern Conference announced its broadcast plans Thursday for the 2015 season, with LSU slated to televised nine times nationally this season between the SEC Network and ESPNU.

Beginning with league play in September, the Tigers’ nine televised games are a part of 50 the two networks will air next season.

LSU’s match against Arkansas on Sept. 23 will be on ESPNU starting at 8 p.m. Other televised matches include: at Auburn, 5 p.m. Oct. 4, SEC Network; vs. Tennessee, 8 p.m. Oct. 7, ESPNU; vs. Alabama, 2 p.m. Oct. 18, SEC Network; at Texas A&M, 7 p.m. Oct. 21, SEC Network; vs. Missouri, 4 p.m. Nov. 8, SEC Network; at Arkansas, 7 p.m. Nov. 11, SEC Network; at Ole Miss, 1 p.m. Nov. 15, SEC Network; vs. Florida, 5 p.m. Nov. 20, SEC Network.
