LSU coaches have been on the road recruiting since the Tigers ended the regular season Nov. 28 with a win against Texas A&M.
Their efforts are paying off.
St. Thomas More kicking specialist and punter Bailey Raborn announced his commitment to LSU on Friday night, joining the No. 2 recruiting class of 2016, according to 247Sports.com.
Raborn’s addition again gives LSU 18 commitments for the current class. The only other kicker in the class in Connor Culp, a three-star recruit from Phoenix.
A three-star prospect per 247Sports.com, Raborn originally committed to UCLA over the summer. He withdrew his commitment in November and flipped to the Tigers a week after STM lost to Parkview Baptist in the Division II state championship game.
Raborn posted a Twitter message Friday evening saying: “Words can’t describe how blessed I am to commit to play football for my dream school LSU! Extremely blessed.”
LSU currently has only two punters on its roster: senior Jamie Keehn and freshman Josh Growden.
Raborn earned first-team All-District 4-4A recognition as a punter and second-team honors as a kicker this season.
