Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says the team doesn't usually have ceremonies for undrafted free-agent players, but it made an exception for LSU offensive tackle La'el Collins on Thursday.

One week after missing the draft because he had to meet with Baton Rouge law enforcements authorities about the killing of his former girlfriend and her baby, Collins, who was never considered to be a suspect, has been exonerated.

Jones, Collins, Collins' mother and coach Jason Garrett met with the media to announce his signing.

Jones was even brought to tears when he talked about the strength of Collins' mother and the impression she made on him in their meeting.
