Back in Baton Rouge, LSU DB Tre’Davious White set to announce his NFL decision Monday _lowres

“Fight pressure with pressure!” Dave Aranda politely told his inside linebackers. “Good job, guys. Get some water.”

Aranda conducted his first practice as LSU’s new defensive coordinator, flashing a different way of coaching than the Tigers’ two former coordinators – the more animated Kevin Steele and John Chavis.

Those weren’t the only changes during the 30 minutes or so that media members were allowed to watch practice. Here are the news nuggets:

Inside: Aranda is working with the inside linebackers. During at least a few drills, here were the players working with the inside linebacker group: Kendell Beckwith, Donnie Alexander, Devin Voorhies, M.J. Patterson.

Outside: Bradely Dale Peveto worked with the outside linebackers. That group included Arden Key, Isaiah Washington, Duke Riley and Tashawn Bower.

Position moves: Tony Upchurch (from FB to WR), Russell Gage (from DB to WR), M.J. Patterson (from DE to ILB).

Missing (only players not known to be injured): QB Anthony Jennings, RB Derrius Guice, TE Foster Moreau, OL Jevonte Domond, DB/LB Corey Thompson.

Linebacker: Devin White was practicing with the linebackers so it appear that’s where he’ll be playing. White signed as a running back/linebacker but coach Les Miles said on national signing day that he’d start his career at running back.

O-line: Maea Teuhema is working some at left tackle, while Toby Weathersby and George Brown Jr. are rotating at right tackle. Garrett Brumfield and Josh Boutte were at right guard. Will Clapp manned the left guard spot.
