LEXINGTON, Ky. — The LSU women’s basketball team took its winning streak on the road and survived Sunday, picking up its third straight Southeastern Conference win by defeating Kentucky 72-70 on Sunday at Rupp Arena.

LSU (15-6, 7-3 SEC) led by as many as 15 points in the second half, but Kentucky (12-12, 4-6) rallied and had a chance to tie at the buzzer when Maci Morris' contested jump shot bounced off the rim. 

Raigyne Louis led LSU with 20 points and added seven assists, three rebounds and three steals.

Chloe Jackson recorded 17 points, six rebounds, two assists and three steals, and Ayana Mitchell collected her fifth double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

The Lady Tigers improved to 13-3 all-time when Louis, Jackson and Mitchell each score double figures in the same game.

Kentucky didn't score for more than six minutes to begin the game as LSU began and ended the first quarter on 6-0 runs for a 16-5 lead.

LSU led 38-26 at halftime and by as many as 51-36, but Kentucky scored the final seven points of the third quarter  

The Wildcats cut the lead to three points twice in the final three minutes, but both times LSU immediately answered with a bucket. On the third occasion, Mitchell made one of two free throws for a 70-66 lead with 36 seconds left. Kentucky's Taylor Murray made a layup to cut the lead to two. Louis hit one of two from the line for a 71-68 lead; Morris answered with two free throws for Kentucky with 18 seconds remaining, and Jackson made one of two at the other end.

Morris scored 17 points to lead Kentucky, and Murray had 16 points and six assists.

LSU enjoyed a 35-23 rebounding advantage and outscored Kentucky 15-4 on second-chance points.

The Lady Tigers travel to Auburn (11-11, 2-8) for a 6 p.m. tip Thursday.
