A date for this season's Texas A&M vs. LSU football game has been decided and will likely be announced Friday, LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva said Thursday.
"Yes, I am...I am happy," Alleva told Culotta & The Prince on 104.5 ESPN FM in Baton Rouge when asked if he was pleased with the decision.
Picking a date for the game has been a sticking point among LSU, Texas A&M, TV networks and the Southeastern Conference.
Alleva said last week the networks continue to push for LSU to move its game with Texas A&M to Thanksgiving Day, but he has continued to refuse.
“As long as I’m here, we will not play in Tiger Stadium on a Thursday,” Alleva said last. “I guarantee you that.”
Texas A&M moved its home game with LSU last year to Thanksgiving night, a 23-17 Tigers victory. A&M used to play Texas on Thanksgiving and it’s assumed the Aggies will want to continue that tradition with their season-ending game against the Tigers.
