Pearl River Community College right-handed pitcher Jacob Taylor, an LSU commitment, is expected to be the first player from south Mississippi, and among the first 100 selected in the MLB draft, according to Sun Herald report.

Taylor became a full-time pitcher for Pearl River this season and has started nine games, pitching 59 1/3 innings, striking out 46, according to the report.

Taylor, an LSU signee, and considered a 'risk' to turn pro, is ranked 77th and 99th overall in MLB.com and Baseball America, respectively.
