The 2015 season doesn’t begin for more than seven months, but LSU running back Leonard Fournette is already garnering Heisman Trophy attention.

Fournette, the Tigers’ rising sophomore and former top recruit in the nation, is second in early Heisman Trophy odds, according to Bovada. He’s 7-1 to win the 2015 Heisman, tied with Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott.

LSU and Mississippi State meet Sept. 12. Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott is the favorite at 6-1.

Fournette began last season in the top 30 in Heisman Trophy odds. He finished the season leading LSU in rushing with 1,034 yards. He averaged 5.5 yards a carry and scored 10 touchdowns.
