LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger completed 13 of 18 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns to lead th No. 8 Tigers to a 45-13 victory against Kent State in Tiger Stadium on Saturday.
Mettenberger threw a school-record five touchdown passes to lead LSU to a 56-17 victory against Alabama-Birmingham last Saturday.
LSU running back Jeremy Hill rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns in the first half. Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. had five catches for 76 yards and one touchdown.
LSU (3-0) outscored Kent State 21-0 in the first quarter. The Tigers first score came on a 58-yard touchdown run by Hill, which made the score 7-0.
The Tigers increased their lead to 14-0 when quarterback Zach Mettenberger threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Jarvis Landry.
Hill had the final score of the quarter with a 12-yard touchdown run.
It was Hill's fifth multi-touchdown game and his fifth game with more than 100 yards rushing in 13 careers games.
