LSU moved up one spot to No. 8 in the Associated Press top-25 and Armway coaches poll.

The Tigers have started the season 3-0 after a 31-0 win over Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday. In all, they’ve moved up five spots in the poll since beginning the season ranked No. 13 in both polls.

LSU hosts Mississippi State next weekend in the Southeastern Conference opener. The Bulldogs (3-0) are second in the coaches and third in the AP among those outside of the top 25 that are receiving votes.

The Tigers have won the last 14 meetings against Mississippi State and 21 of the last 22.

The Associated Press top 25 is set to be released Sunday afternoon.
