Freshman infielder Sahvanna Jaquish of the LSU softball team was named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league announced Monday, after she helped the Tigers to three wins last week.

Jaquish, a native of Highland, Calif., had a .467 batting average, .529 on-base percentage and .867 slugging percentage in four games. She added three extra-base hits, three RBIs and five runs.

In Saturday’s Game 2 of the South Carolina series, she became the third player in team history to post five hits in a game; she finished a home run short of the cycle in a 5-for-5 effort with an RBI and three runs. Jaquish hit her team-leading 10th home run in the series opener against the Gamecocks and also scored twice.
