LSU-Florida Angst Football

Florida won 16-10. Hurricane Matthew’s football fallout concludes Saturday, when reeling LSU plays at 21st-ranked Florida in a game that was switched from Baton Rouge to Gainesville. The Advocate's writers have made their picks for LSU vs. Florida on Saturday afternoon in Gainesville, Florida.

ROSS DELLENGER:

Florida 17, LSU 14

The Tigers were "out-physicaled" against a Sun Belt team. How are they going to beat 21st-ranked Florida in The Swamp? Things are trending poorly for Ed Orgeron's squad, but don't expect this to be any kind of blowout. The Gators are not strong either and have needed grand escapes in their three wins (Kentucky, Tennessee, Vanderbilt).

SHELDON MICKLES:

Florida 26, LSU 20

Just like back in 2014, when it last visited The Swamp, LSU is desperate for a win. The Tigers were reeling from losses to Mississippi State and Auburn then; this time, it's Troy. If Matt Canada's offense continues to struggle like it has, LSU is going to find it extra-tough to win on the road – especially in Gainesville.

SCOTT RABALAIS:

Florida 25, LSU 18

I can believe LSU is trying to get on the same page offensively and put stock in the Tigers getting healthier defensively. But there has been too much dysfunction to believe LSU will pull together and come through with a winning SEC road effort, even against a flawed Florida team.
