LSU running back Jeremy Hill is one of 12 players added Wednesday to the watch list for the Maxwell Award, which is given annually to the top player in college football.

The 12 new nominees brings to 90 the number of candidates, the first of which were named in July. Tigers quarterback Zach Mettenberger was already on the list, which will be reduced to a group of semifinalists on Oct. 29.

Hill, a sophomore from Redemptorist High School, leads the Southeastern Conference with nine touchdowns and is second in rushing yards per game (118.8).

All members of the Maxwell Football Club, NCAA sports information directors, FBS head coaches and selected national media are eligible to vote for the Maxwell Award.
