Former LSU baseball player and Baton Rouge native Aaron Nola's MLB debut proved to be what the crowd at Citizens Bank Park was waiting for Tuesday night.
Though the game finished with a loss for the Phillies, Nola's showing previewed his potential for the season.
According to an MLB.com report, Nola, their seventh round pick threw 88 pitches with 59 strikes. His tough spot, however, was Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Nathan Karns.
Karns hit at fastball pitched by Nola for a home run during the third inning.
Ultimately, the highly anticipated game ended in a 1-0 loss for the Phillies.
