LSU junior swimmers Andrei Tuomola and Amanda Kendall were named SEC Male and Female Swimmers of the Week after their performances at the Tennessee Invitational.
Tuomola won the 50-meter freestyle in 19.94 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 53.99 to help lead the Tigers to second place with a team score of 931.
Tuomola was second in the 100 free in 43.78 and helped LSU relay teams to second 400 free relay and fifth in the 200 free relay.
Kendall won the 50 free (22.36), the 100 fly (53.16) and the 100 free (48.19). She also swam the front leg of the first place 200 free relay (1:31.21).
In the consolation round, Kendall won the 200 free in 1:46.67.
Tigers prepare for Arkansas: LSU hosts Arkansas at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in volleyball.
The Tigers (18-11, 11-8 Southeastern Conference) have clinched a share of the SEC West title. LSU can clinch the title outright with a win Saturday.

The Etta James Memorial Meet on Friday, March 2, against North Carolina State is set to raise money to fight breast cancer.
The home finale is on Friday, March 16, against West Virginia.
