LSU's two starting offensive tackles and the "bell cow" of its defensive line missed practice Tuesday.

Left tackle KJ Malone and right tackle Toby Weathersby and defensive end Rashard Lawrence did not participate in drills in the 10 minutes in which were reporters were present Tuesday.

Their status for Saturday's game against No. 10 Auburn remains in question. Malone is battling a left knee injury he hurt in the win over Florida, and Weathersby is suffering from "numerous" ailments, Orgeron said. Lawrence, who the coach calls his "bell cow" on the defensive front, re-injured his right ankle against the Gators.

Freshmen Saahdiq Charles, at left tackle, and Austin Deculus, at right tackle, replaced LSU's starting tackles during practice - as they did for much of the game against Florida. Center Will Clapp returned to practice after missing Monday's drills.

Other observations

  • Several players donned gold jersey, signifying limited contact for injury. The list includes outside linebacker Corey Thompson (stinger), safety John Battle (stinger) and F-back JD Moore (undisclosed).
  • Several players continue to miss drills, including TE Caleb Roddy (who returned briefly last week), F-back Bry'Kiethon Mouton, edge rushers Sci Martin and Andre Anthony (ankle), and cornerbacks Kirstian Fulton and Xavier Lewis.
  • Running backs Derrius Guice and Darrel Williams participated in drills and did not don gold jerseys. They're both limited, each battling injuries.
