At 6-foot-6, 325 pounds, Austin Deculus looked out of place on Skip Bertman Field.
LSU football assistant coach Bradley Dale Peveto’s presence gave it away.
Deculus is a four-star offensive tackle from Cypress, Texas, a guy who’s received offers from all of the big boys – Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame and Oklahoma, to name a few. The 12th-best offensive tackle in the 2017 class, Deculus is in town this weekend for an unofficially visit.
As part of the campus tour, Peveto brought Deculus to Alex Box Stadium ahead of LSU’s game against Vanderbilt on Friday night. Deculus towered over coach Paul Mainieri during their brief meeting on the field in front of the Tigers’ dugout about 15 minutes before first pitch.
