The LSU men’s basketball team will make a second consecutive appearance on ESPN’s College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon this fall, the network announced Monday.

LSU, which dropped a 93-91 decision to UMass in the 2013 Tip-Off Marathon before going on to a 20-win season and an NIT appearance, will play Texas Tech on Nov. 18 in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The game, which will be televised by ESPN2, will tip off at 8:30 p.m.

The LSU-Texas Tech game will be one of 19 — including two women’s contests — that will be played in a 29-hour span starting at 6 p.m. Nov. 17. All games will be televised on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.

The game likely will be the second of the season for the LSU basketball team, with the entire schedule expected to be released soon.

LSU started a home-and-home series with Texas Tech last season. The Tigers defeated the Red Raiders 71-69 in United Spirit Arena in Lubbock, Texas, on Dec. 18.

“We’re excited that the LSU basketball program will be featured during this year’s Tip-Off Marathon,” LSU coach Johnny Jones said in a release. “The event has become a showcase of college basketball, and we look forward to hosting one of the games against a talented Texas Tech team.”

Texas Tech was 14-18 a year ago, 6-12 in the Big 12, under first-year coach Tubby Smith.

The game with Texas Tech will be the final one for LSU before it heads to the Virgin Islands for the Paradise Jam. The Tigers will meet Old Dominion in the first game Nov. 21.

In addition to LSU, five other Southeastern Conference teams are included in the Tip-Off Marathon. The total of six is the most for any conference in this year’s event.

Florida will host Miami, Auburn will play at Colorado, South Carolina will host Baylor, Kentucky will meet Kansas in Indianapolis and the Kentucky women will host Baylor.
