More importantly, coach Paul Mainieri’s club can make a loud statement to receive one of eight national seeds by beating Florida, which has an RPI of 2. Cartwright, a rookie from Runnels, gets the biggest start of his young career. In his last five starts, Cartwright has allowed 10 hits and three earned runs in 12 innings.
