LSU will be without defensive tackle Christian LaCouture and cornerback Tre’Davious White for its game Saturday night against Western Kentucky, the school announced before kickoff.
The Advocate reported Friday night that LaCouture would miss the game with a foot injury and that White is battling a knee injury that could keep him out. . The No. 5 Tigers (6-0, 4-0 Southeastern) and Western Kentucky (6-1) were schedule to kick off at 6:02 p.m. from a rainy Tiger Stadium.
Greg Gilmore will replace LaCouture in the starting lineup at DT, and Donte Jackson will return punts in place of White, LSU announced. Kevin Toliver and Dwayne Thomas will start at the cornerback positions, the school announced.
LaCouture and White’s statuses beyond Saturday are not known. White injured his knee during practice Monday and underwent an MRI. LaCouture hurt his foot.
LSU has an open date next week before traveling to No. 8 Alabama (6-1, 3-1) for what’s likely to be a prime-time, nationally televised SEC West showdown.
